As part of the international rebranding campaign for the Merck brand, we developed a multi-sensory virtual reality experience to bring the Group's new corporate identity to life for customers, employees and partners.
In the virtual space, visitors embark on a spectacular journey into the DNA of the global science and technology company Merck.
We created a unique immersive universe for Oculus Rift and Leap Motion, which offered enthusiastic visitors an informative journey with a high fun factor. The sophisticated 360° sound design added another effective element to the user experience.
The repositioning of the Merck brand aimed to make the corporate identity both more visible and more accessible.
In order to communicate the new CI to the company's approximately 10,000 employees in a sustainable way, our client therefore wanted an exhibit that was technically up to date and could implement the new visual style in a clever and playful way.
To meet these requirements, we developed a multi-sensory VR experience that immerses the user directly in Merck's new, colorful universe.
We used an Oculus Rift as the VR hardware for the branding dome and a Leap Motion system for precise real-time hand tracking.
Three different interactive chapters invite visitors to find out more about the science and technology company.
Once immersed in the virtual world, you can choose between a turbulent ride on the "Curiosity Coaster", in which facts and figures about the company and its employees are playfully conveyed, the "Box of Ideas", which allows you to create your own three-dimensional "Merckrobe" - and then take a personal AR selfie with it - or literally shape the company's new CI with your own hands in virtual space in the "Shape the future" chapter.
But the exhibit itself is also an absolute eye-catcher in terms of shape and color. In addition to the eye-catching design, an integrated screen attracts additional attention, as those standing nearby become witnesses to the VR experience they are currently experiencing.
The AR snapshot with the personal Merckrobe could also be admired again on this second screen after the journey was complete.
Anyone who wanted to could then take this memory home with them or send themselves a personal download link via the intuitive touch interface.
